The Youngs used the library as a reading room and a storage space for books and magazines. The classic books and treasured collections on display were symbols of their elite education and refined cultural activities.

Unlike so many house museums that curators have carefully recreated, Locust Grove is completely intact, from furniture and paintings to vast collections of ceramics like the teapots and pitchers at the top of the room.
